Getting a degree to be a teacher isn't all it takes to have the qualities of a teacher. Not all teachers are real teachers besides teaching the subject they specialized in. Some teachers know how to lead students to the rights and give them a little of what its really like out there. One of the qualities of a teacher is to be patient with the student. Some teachers don't have patience for students. At times, they may think that the student may be joking but is really trying to explain the truth. Another quality of a teacher is make sure that they excel. I know some teachers who don't really care about how their student is doing but just cares about the money their making. A quality that a teacher should have is to be respectful to their students. Some teachers think just because their teachers, they can run the class room how ever they want to. Another quality of teacher should be to have good temper. Maybe students may annoy some times but it shouldn't give you the audacity to yell at a students. Most find it very offending. A characteristic from a teacher that I expect is to have humor and life in whatever you teach. If not, your class can be so boring that students might fail. As students, we tend to have a short attention span so having no humor in a class WON'T do the trick. Another characteristic from a teacher that I expect is that they have time management. Some teachers take they're time in what they do. Although, it depends if the class does not understand the topic, but if not, the teacher needs to pick up the pace. These are important qualities and traits I expect from a teacher.
ReplyDeletesrry 4 mistakes and errors, I was doing it late int he night.
DeleteNo worries. You have some really good ideas.
DeleteRegardless of what profession one chooses, money should not be the only incentive since money cannot make someone completely happy. Sometimes both teachers and students have to make sure they take the time to look at situations from other perspectives so we can understand each other's intentions and feelings better.
DeleteI believe that a teacher should never take their anger out on a child no matter the cause because if they can't control themselves, they should still remember that no one forced them to become a teacher. But on the other hand, the students should have complete respect so the teacher would not have to bust a cap in their behind or have to blow one of their own blood vessels. Anyways, teachers should also be using appropriate language and teach the students the correct thing to set them straight for life. But if they wanna have a little fun with their lessons, it's okay, I don't mind. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you feel that both the teacher and students should have a mutual respect for one another. Hopefully, no one from either group will feel the need to get violent with one another.
DeleteReally.
DeleteI think an important quality of a teacher is a teacher that teach subjects and involve other subjects as well.
ReplyDeleteEx. Mr.Cohen helps 5th graders prepare for the Ela state exam although he is a social studies teacher
Good thoughts. The teachers are definitely trying to do more cross-curricular instruction where we incorporate other subjects in our lessons and activities.
DeleteThere are many qualities that a good teacher should have but a GREAT teacher should not only have strong character traits but also have a love for the children they teach and a genuine desire to want their student to succeed and not just teach for a paycheck. A GREAT teacher should be organized, have the highest expectations for their students, be prepared and not absent all the time, should be interactive, engaging and interesting. Some students are not organized but if their teacher is, then that is expected, the student will become organized. If a teacher doesn’t have high expectations then the grades of the students are bad. A GREAT teacher motivates her students to be better, no matter how much time they spend on a subject, with motivation and high expectations the student is going to get it. When a teacher is absent all the time, the students don’t make a connection to the teacher and her teaching styles. Then different Subs are in the classroom all the time and there is no organization, so the students don’t learn anything. Some lessons like Math can be boring but if you have a GREAT teacher and she engages you and works with you one on one, then math soon becomes one of your favorite subjects. She not only sits with you one on one, she also never lets you down and never makes you feel bad, even when you don’t know the answer. I am very lucky to have the math teacher I have, because she is engaging, has high expectations and even if she has to stay after always makes sure I have the lesson down. To me these qualities made me a better student.
ReplyDeleteA GREAT teacher inspires their students to always want to be and do more. Many GREAT teachers are caring and supportive of their students, always making them feel welcomed. A Great teacher is also smart and a good sense of humor and is able to laugh with the students. When you have a GREAT teacher you are also able to be GREAT and together both you and the teacher become successful. Great teachers also communicate with their students’ parents if there is a problem and don’t wait until it’s too late. And finally a GREAT teacher is always learning not only from their students but attends learning seminars and travels great distances to learn about different teaching styles that would make them better.

Great Teachers are entertaining and engaging. Great teachers let the children share there thoughts and opinions on the subject and allow the students to ask questions and explain things to them. Great teachers use other methods than yelling or failing a child or sending them to the dean or principle. Great teachers don't talk and talk and put children to sleep. Great teachers incorporate technology into the lesson. Great teachers have the students do fun activities helping them remember the topic. Great teachers prepare students well for tests and do not give too much work. Also, great teachers always are nice and dress professionally and always have a smile on their face.
ReplyDeleteA Teacher should be respectful no matter how bad the the student is. A teacher should also not yell for every little thing like some teachers in the past did. They should have humor and make the lessons engageing so the students can be more focused and like being in class.A teacher should also be willing ti answer questions about other class espically if they brought up the subject. (EX: When Ms.WarrickKing was talking about weather the talk turned into babies and she answered all of our question about that topic. A teacher should also rewared there students once in a while with a party or other special treat for all there hard work. Now THATS a GREAT teacher in my opioin.
